Why 80% of DIETS FAIL and Keep You FAT

by Kevin DiDonato, MS, CSCS, CES

Each day, there are millions of people who are looking to lose weight– but mainly body fat.

They are looking to strip away the fat from their belly…

Looking to have smaller thighs and more of a “thigh gap”…

Or just looking for ways to look better naked!

And no matter how hard they work at the gym…

Or how “clean” they eat…

They may still have trouble losing those last 10, 15, or 20 pounds!

Why is that?

Well, believe it or not, losing weight is simply not what it was like 50 years ago…

The Rise of Dysfunctional Fat Cells

Twenty, 40, or even 50 years ago, if you wanted to lose weight and improve your health, you simply cut down on your meat and potatoes, put in a few more hours of physical labor, and voil
à!, you would lose the extra padding that accumulated over the winter.

But today, it’s not as easy to get rid of your stubborn belly fat!

Why?

It’s because there are certain changes occurring in your body – changes that turn your fat cells against you.

Now, you’re probably thinking that this type of damage would only occur when you’re 20, 30, or even 250 pounds overweight.

But I have news for you…

If you are even 5 pounds…8 pounds…or even 10 pounds overweight…

Then you probably have some dysfunction occurring in your fat cells – right now!

So, what has happened?

Well, let’s take a look back and see.

When you are born, everything for the most part works in unison together to keep you healthy and functioning at optimal levels.

However, as life moves forward – the choices you make impact everything in your life – including the health of your cells.

You may not get in the recommended daily dose of exercise…

Or you don’t eat the right foods – but eat more of the WRONG ones…

These two choices alone may change the way your body responds to foods and nutrients!

This holds true for your fat cells as well!

When you are born, your fat cells have a specific role – that is to store and release the stored nutrients for energy purposes.

But when you make poor food and exercise choices, you alter how well those cells respond to storing and releasing the stored energy.

Now, besides diet and exercise, there are other factors that contribute to dysfunctions in your fat cells.

The other factor: chemicals and preservatives that are found in food, everyday household products, or even in the air you breathe.

These chemicals are called obesogens – and may be potentially deadly chemicals that alter the way your body stores and releases fatty acids.

In fact, here’s a great video from Dr. Walsh explaining what obesogens are and exactly how they impact your health:

Now that you discovered a little bit about fat cell dysfunction and obesogens – and how they make it harder for you to lose fat – let’s take a closer look at another topic that is seldom talked about when it comes to losing fat.

That is inflammation…

Inflammation and Sick Fat Cells

I need to clarify something for you…

Your fat cells are NOT just a place to store – and eventually release – fatty acids into your bloodstream.

In fact, your fat – yes, that includes your belly fat, thigh fat, and underarm fat – are now considered an endocrine organ.

What does that exactly mean?

Well, your fat cells produce and secrete powerful hormones that communicate directly with your brain to tell you when you’re hungry…when you’re full…and when you need to burn some energy in order to reduce your fat stores.

But that’s just the “good” ones!   Your fat cells also produce and secrete powerful molecules that may increase inflammation throughout your body.

And inflammation is no-good when it comes to fat loss – or your overall health in general!

Now, these hormones – labeled as pro-inflammatory cytokines – increase inflammation throughout the body – and that includes your fat cells.

Not all of the adipokines that are released may create toxic and dysfunctional fat cells, but there are three main ones that you need to worry about.

So, what can you do to reverse this dangerous trend and boost your fat loss?

The Top Three Ways to Reverse Dysfunctional Fat Cells

Although there are lots of ways to prevent – and reverse – the damage to your fat cells, these three ways to probably the best:

1. Cut Back on the White Stuff

Each year, the average person eats roughly 150 to 170 pounds of sugar!  That equals roughly 30 or so bags of sugar per year!

Now, you’re not just eating straight sugar, but refined carbs, white breads, desserts, and other foods that contain sugar.

And this could be accounting for roughly 80 percent of the issue when it comes to dysfunctional fat cells and your inability to lose fat.

You see, when you eat too much sugar, there is a sudden and VERY sharp increase in your blood sugar.

And this helps that sugar get shuttled into your muscles so that they can use the sugar.

However, when there is way too much (like what’s in our diet), then the body will use what it needs and send the rest to be stored.

When your fat cells aren’t responding as they should, the excess sugar could be stored in other areas of the body – namely the liver and muscles.

This could increase insulin resistance (or how your body handles insulin), which could impact how well your body can lose fat.

2. Eat More FAT (to burn the fat)

Everyone is weary of the word FAT.  They are afraid that if they eat fat, they will get fat.

However, this could be a figment of their imagination.  Don’t get me wrong, if you eat too much of anything, you’re bound to get fat.

Sugar – and not fat – is the evil nutrient that makes you fat.

Numerous studies show that increasing your intake of healthy fats – namely monounsaturated, polyunsaturated, and some saturated fats (namely medium chain triglycerides) – may actually help you BURN FAT and keep your weight down!

Plus, healthy fats may also add some substance to your meal and boost your satiety hormone, which could lead to better meal satisfaction and LESS intense food cravings in between meals.

3. You’re Sleep Deprived

I am not going to sugarcoat this…

Next to sugar, sleep loss is a true killer to fat loss!  Not only are we, as a society, sleep deprived, we are also fatter than ever before.

Not having a restful night's sleep may lead to spikes in your cortisol levels.

And cortisol is a metabolism killer.  Cortisol may increase muscle breakdown – and boost fat accumulation which could lead to less hungry, fattier people!

So, if you’re struggling to lose the fat, then check your sleeping pattern!  If you’re not getting the recommended SIX to EIGHT hours of shuteye, then you could be destroying your metabolism and seriously depriving your body from burning fat.

Stop Letting Your Body OWN You!

If you’ve been struggling to lose those last 10 pounds – or any fat at all – then there’s a good chance your fat cells are sick.

Not sick like what those little critters that cause the cold or the flu can do, but sick in the aspect that they can’t do their job the right way to function.

And that’s not good for your hopes of fitting into your skinny jeans…or finally looking great naked!

But there are some tricks you can include…

Tricks that are so powerful, that you could strip away the years of stubborn belly fat and finally reveal your six-pack abs!

But, in order to accomplish this, you need to: 1) fix your sick fat cells, and 2) change the way you eat, exercise, and sleep in
order to reverse the dangerous cycle that leads you to having dysfunctional fat cells in the first place.

Oh…

And you should never, EVER go on a fad-type of diet!  These types of diets may do nothing to fix your dysfunctional fat cells…

…and only fool your body into thinking it’s going to work for you!  The fact is: 80 percent of diets FAIL…

That’s a high number!  Now, if you don’t want to be another statistic, download our free report “Why Do Diets Fail” and finally discover how to “cure” your sick fat cells – once and for ALL!
