How Branched-Chain Amino Acids Helps Muscle Building

If you want to build your lean body the right way, consumption of branched-chain amino acids is a must.

1. What are Branched-Chain Amino Acids?

Three of the eight essential amino acids needed to make protein: leucine, isoleucine and valine are called b
ranched-chain amino acids (BCAA). They are called branched-chain because their structure has a ‘branch’ off the main trunk of the molecule.  One-third of skeletal muscle in the human body is made up of these three essential amino acids.

The body can actually break down muscle to use these BCAAs for energy if it needs to. By supplying them before or after a workout, your muscles are spared from breakdown.

2. What kind of results can I expect from this?

You can expect to see an improvement in
the effectiveness of your training sessions and reduce muscle soreness and fatigue.  BCAAs can improve nitrogen retention so that your body stays in an anabolic state for lean muscle development, which results in prevention of devastating lean muscle tissue breakdown*.

3. How much do I have to take?

The instructed dosage is 2 capsules before a workout, after a workout and/or between meals.  Now, if you are already consuming protein before and after a workout you do not need to also take BCAAs at those times.  You would then just consume your BCAAs between meals.

4. Can I double the dosage for faster results?

Depending on your workout intensity, goals and body size you may consider increasing the dosage to 4 capsules per serving.  There is no harm in doing this and is designed for those that want to increase and build lean muscle quicker,  are trying to improve performance or are just strength training with high intensity and volume for increased muscle gains.

5. How do BCAAs help me if I am dieting?

BCAAs can be used as fuel(energy) by the body like mentioned above so if you are restricting your calories and your body needs energy or fuel it goes to your muscles and your fat to get that fuel.  We obviously want it to go after the fat, but we don't want it to go after the muscle.  By providing your body with BCAAs throughout the day will allow it to use those for fuel if needed and prevent your body from getting the BCAAs from your muscle, which can cause loss of lean muscle.

6. Will it bother my stomach?

No it should not bother your stomach.  We consume Amino Acids every day with protein meals and these BCAAs are of the same chemical design.

7. How long do I have to take it?

If you do not get in enough protein through regular food or other supplements then it is a good idea to continue to use BCAA particularly if you are dieting or trying to build lean muscle through strength training.

8. How solid is the research behind this product?

The research is very solid on the ingredients used.  Amino acids have been studied for dozens of years and they are an essential part of what our body needs every day to function and grow.  So they are safe to consume each and every day within the guidelines presented here.
