Delicious Coconut Oil Chocolate and Honey Butter

Coconut oil has one of the highest concentrations of saturated fat (over 90%) of foods known to man. However, due to recent studies, numerous myths have been disproved and now it is considered as a “wonder element.”



Also, it contains medium-length fatty acids, which are not detrimental to the body, but instead provide a quick source of energy as they are synthesized quickly. In addition, the medium chain tryglicerides help increase the energy expenditure of the body – leading, over a longer duration of time, to weight loss.

Other long-term effects include the reduction of appetite (because it offers the feeling of satiation) and the reduction of cholesterol in the body, leading to lower chances of cardiovascular diseases.  Applied externally, coconut oil may act as a sunscreen, moisturize and improve the aspect of the skin, as well as protect against hair deterioration.

Coconut Oil Chocolate Fudge

Ingredients
  • 1 cup coconut oil (melted or in liquid form)
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup honey
Instructions

Place all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl and use an electric hand mixer to blend into a smooth consistency.

Pour the fudge onto a tray lined with baking paper then place into the fridge for 1-2 hours or until set.

Cut into slices and serve.



Coconut Oil Honey Butter

Ingredients
  • 1 cup coconut oil (melted or in liquid form)
  • 1/4 cup honey
Instructions

Place all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl and use an electric beater to whip together until light and fluffy.

Serve on-top of Paleo muffins, Paleo breads, pancakes, etc.
